Missing a valve cap? Grit's getting in.
Most cars have one: a bare valve stem where a cap used to be.
The cap isn't what holds the air in. The valve core is.
That little spring valve hates grit. Dust, mud and road grime packed into an open stem get pushed straight into it every time you pump up. A cap that screws down firmly keeps the opening clean between top-ups.
Pump Up. Cap On. Done.
- Top up the tyre with your Jump Master Pro or Tyre Pump.
- Unscrew the air chuck.
- Thread on a cap and snug it down by hand. Firm, not forced.
Two seconds a tyre, and your valves stay clean until the next top-up.
Machined, Not Moulded.
Plastic caps go brittle in the Aussie sun, crack and quietly disappear. These are machined from solid aluminium, anodised for colour and cut with a deep diamond knurl, so they look like they belong on a set of alloys.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will they fit my vehicle?
Will they fit my vehicle?
Yes, if it has standard Schrader valves (the 8V1 thread), which is nearly every car, 4WD, ute, trailer, caravan and motorbike in Australia. They don't fit Presta valves, the skinny valves on most road bikes.
My car has tyre pressure sensors. Are these OK?
My car has tyre pressure sensors. Are these OK?
Check your owner's manual first. Many cars with tyre pressure sensors (TPMS) use aluminium valve stems, and some car makers ask for plastic caps on them so a metal cap can't corrode onto the stem. If your manual says plastic caps, follow it. On standard rubber valve stems, these are right at home.
Can I buy the valve caps on their own?
Can I buy the valve caps on their own?
They're made as an add-on, so they're sold with a Jump Master Pro, Portable Tyre Pump or Hard Carry Case order rather than on their own.
How tight should they go?
How tight should they go?
Finger tight. Thread them on by hand and snug them down, firm but not forced. No tools, and never pliers.
Will aluminium caps seize on my valves?
Will aluminium caps seize on my valves?
Any metal cap can bind on a metal valve thread if it's left untouched for years, especially near the coast. Snug them by hand, take them off at each tyre check, and a tiny smear of silicone grease on the thread once a year keeps them turning freely.
Will a cap stop a leak?
Will a cap stop a leak?
No. A tyre that keeps losing air needs checking by a tyre shop, because leaks come from punctures, the bead or the valve core itself. What a cap does is keep grit and water out of the valve opening between top-ups.
Will the colour fade?
Will the colour fade?
The colour is anodised into the surface of the aluminium rather than painted on, so it won't chip or peel. Like all coloured anodising it can soften after years of harsh sun, and red is the first to show it. Black and grey hold up best.
Why 8 caps?
Why 8 caps?
One per tyre, one for the spare and three to keep in the glovebox for the ones that go walkabout. Or a full set each for the 4WD and the camper trailer.
Are they anti-theft?
Are they anti-theft?
No. Like any knurled cap they undo by hand, which is exactly what you want at every tyre check.
